Longrain

Everything you loved about Longrain and then some. Scott Pickett’s magic has transformed this Melbourne favourite into an even better experience! It’s fantastic!

Modern Thai has never been better and the variety of choice on the menu coupled with just the right amount of spice makes Longrain your perfect destination for a gourmet dinner out. There are lots of large tables for groups, bar seating for a drink or quick bite along with extra long share tables (with sufficient spacing) for smaller gatherings.

Traditional Thai fresh ingredients come together in modern combinations and presentation. Our group had the banquet menu and there was plenty of delicious food with perfectly matched wines on offer. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Some standouts were Yum Kao Tod: Crispy rice, chicken, ginger, mint, coriander, chilli, peanuts and the caramelised pork hock, five spice, pickled mustard greens. For dessert we had a delicious sweet Mango, sticky rice, coconut granita dish.

Fresh, local and seasonal make for perfect eating and offer fantastic photographic opportunities. This is easily one of the best Instagram friendly restaurants in Melbourne. The huge murals, cement columns, sexy green colour scheme and moody lighting make it impossible to come away without a star shot and that’s just the restaurant. The food is presented in an equally Instafriendly way. The pictures speak for themselves.

My tip, don’t forget your camera!

Longrain accepts reservations and also welcomes walk-ins.

It’s open Monday – Thursday 5.30 pm – late, Friday 12 pm – 3 pm and 5 pm – late, Saturday 5 pm – late.
