acropolis, acropolis museum, athens, greece, hellas
What fabulous photos & I’m pleased to see that your whirlwind trip to Athens has not been all business. Your pictures bring back so many fond memories of times we have spent in Greece. Isn’t the Acropolis just amazing? When we were there in 2010, our visit coincided with the week long Athens Festival & we were lucky enough to attend a twilight concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus (your image 5), which was just magical. Isn’t the Acropolis Museum amazing & with what they found under the glass floor? The ancient Agora is also fabulous & I have a photo of Phil standing alongside the exact same urn you took in image 27.
It looks like you have already been up Lykavittos Hill – we enjoyed a very memorable dinner at the Orizontes restaurant right at the top there. The experience of looking down onto the floodlit Acropolis, perched atop Lykavittos Hill, on a hot summer night was unforgettable.
I know you will be eating well – it’s hard to find bad food in Athens. Enjoy the remainder of your Grecian odyssey & I look forward to hearing all about your trip when I see you at the ball.
Love from Ange
